Mental well-being is our most valuable asset, both at home and work. An award-winning CEO, behavioural change expert, and high-performance specialist Dr. Lisa Bélanger shows leaders and their teams how to apply today’s leading-edge scientific research to maximize their mental capacity for optimal performance. She helps close the gap between intention and action, resulting in long-term change and a greater competitive advantage. Bélanger holds a PhD in Behavioural Medicine, an Executive MBA, and is a Certified Exercise Physiologist. She is the founder and CEO of ConsciousWorks, a consulting firm that leverages science to help leaders develop the skills, habits, and work design for practical and sustainable behaviour change, team engagement, and shifts in workplace culture. Prior to COVID-19, Bélanger traveled the world to explore workplace culture, leadership, and the ability to destress from work on a global level. Pulling from her data and lived experience, she created and hosts the popular podcast, Work Less, Produce More. Bélanger is the author of two books: Inspire Me Well: Finding Motivation to Take Control of Your Health and A Cup of Mindfulness for the Busy and Restless. She is also the founder of Knight’s Cabin, a national charity offering wellness programming to cancer survivors.
As Vice-President of Operations & Safety Centre of Excellence for Energy Safety Canada, Paula provides strategic leadership to the development of safety programs, training and initiatives to reduce injury and illness in the Canadian oil & gas industry.
Prior to joining Energy Safety Canada in 2007, Paula gained valuable experience in the in the areas of human resources and environmental health & safety working in the oil and gas, construction and utilities sectors.
Paula holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Calgary and an MBA from the Haskayne School of Business. She also holds certificates in occupational health & safety from the University of Alberta and project management from SAIT. Throughout her career, Paula holds the following professional designations; Chartered Professional in Human Resources Professional (CPHR), Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP), Canadian Risk Management (CRM) and Institute of Corporate Directors Designation (ICD.D).
Paula serves on the Board of Directors for the Radiation Safety Institute of Canada. She is Co-Founder and Inaugural Chairperson of the Women in Occupational Health & Safety Society, an organization with the mission to foster the advancement of women working in health and safety in Canada and has served as a Governor on the Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals.
Paula was inducted into the Occupational Health and Safety Canada Fall of Fame in 2024, was awarded the OHS Canada Community Leader Award in 2021 and has repeatedly been named a Top Women in Safety for Canadian Occupational Safety since 2021.
Janet Holt-Killingbeck has been working as a Director within Health and Safety at Hydro One since December 2020 and is currently the Directory of Health and Safety Field Support. Janet’s leadership has helped transform Hydro One’s safety culture through investigations and analytics and was recognized by Canadian Occupation Safety magazine as one of the 2024 Top Woman in Safety. With over 25 years of experience at Hydro One in various roles in Human Resources, Operations and Health and Safety, Ms. Holt-Killingbeck is highly regarded as a compassionate leader who is collaborative and drives action.
Ms. Holt-Killingbeck holds a Bachelor of Arts in Administrative and Commercial Studies and Psychology with a specialization in Social Organization and Human Relations from the University of Western of Ontario. She also holds a certificate in Human Resource Management from the University of Toronto and is currently completing her Certificate of Occupational Health and Safety through Toronto Metropolitan University.
Wendy Murphy has been a prominent figure in Alberta’s construction industry since 1996. As the CEO and partner of Timber Tech Truss LP, she brings over 25 years of hands-on experience in the production, design, sales, and marketing of her business. Her leadership journey has been defined by significant milestones, including the successful startup of Timber Tech Calgary’s division in 2007 and a major acquisition in 2018 that expanded the company’s reach.
In 2023, Wendy led the sale of her family-owned business, which had been a cornerstone of the community for over 43 years, partnering with Westcap Management Ltd., a private equity firm focused on Western Canada. Most recently, in 2024, the Timber Tech LP group acquired Brydon Stairs, with Wendy steering the company’s strategic focus on acquisitions and new business ventures in the prefabrication home and framing/assembly industries.
Wendy is a proud graduate of the University of Lethbridge, SAIT Polytechnic, and the Ivey School of Business Quantum Shift program. Her professional success has earned her recent nominations for RBC’s 2024 Entrepreneur of the Year Award and an Honorary Doctorate in Business from the University of Lethbridge. Her core philosophy—“To Elevate Success”—drives her passion for personal and professional growth, helping others achieve their goals and elevate their performance.
A strong advocate for community involvement, Wendy is deeply committed to volunteerism and philanthropy. She supports organizations such as Kids Cancer Care and Woods Homes, which align with her values of giving back to the communities where she works and lives.
Outside of work, Wendy is an adventure seeker who enjoys spending time with her large family, close friends, and adult children. Her favorite activities include backcountry skiing, mountain biking, hiking, surfing, and traveling the world. Wendy also finds peace through her yoga and meditation practice. In 2024, she experienced the joy of becoming a grandmother, a gift she describes as the greatest blessing of her life.
Nada Vuckovic is a Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) with over 25 years of proven experience across a diverse range of industries, including manufacturing, industrial, electrical, construction, oil and gas, healthcare, and services. She currently serves as the Head of Environment, Health and Safety and Sustainability Officer at Siemens Canada Limited, a subsidiary of Siemens AG, a leading global technology company.
Since joining Siemens in 2006, Nada has held various EHS leadership roles within several Siemens businesses, driving operational excellence in environmental, health, safety, and sustainability programs. In her current role, she leads the development and execution of the company's EHS strategy across Canada, ensuring the highest standards in safety, wellness, and environmental practices.
In addition to her EHS leadership role, Nada serves as Siemens Canada’s Sustainability Officer, helping to drive the company’s commitment to building a more sustainable future and enabling societal transformation.
As a resilient and results-driven leader, Nada leverages her extensive EHS expertise to enhance organizational performance and improve employee and customer experiences. Her dynamic and forward-thinking leadership approach has led to significant success in creating safer and healthier work environments.
A passionate mentor, Nada fosters a culture of engagement, ownership, and accountability. Sandra Jury-Fleming is the president and founder of Bow Valley Safety / BVS Canada, an award-winning safety consultancy firm. A Certified Health & Safety Consultant (CHSC), Sandra brings over 20 years of industry experience, beginning her career in the Oil Sands before establishing her own practice. Her dedication to workplace safety is matched by her passion for addressing harassment and discrimination, areas in which her company has been entrusted with numerous sensitive investigations.
Under Sandra's leadership, Bow Valley Safety has become the trusted safety partner for organizations across school boards, construction, manufacturing, and hospitality sectors.
