Dr. Johanna Pagonis

Dr. Pagonis has 15+ years experience in organizational design and development that she has gained throughout her professional and academic career. Dr. Pagonis has led the design and delivery of evidence-based and credible employee and leadership development programs in the non-profit, private, and public sector on a national and international level. 

Dr. Pagonis has worked with various organizations such as, Interpol, Edmonton Police Service, Vancouver Police Department, Alberta Government and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in developing programs in officer safety, investigations and leadership. Additionally, she has led impactful organizational change initiatives by establishing positive connections and relationships to leverage learning opportunities, resources, and expertise to fulfil an organization’s vision.


Dr. Pagonis inherently believes what drives people to excellence is igniting their passion through their purpose. Giving people the forum to share and express what they love, what they are good at, and how their work aligns to the purpose and mission of the organization.


Dr. Pagonis attained a Masters from McGill University and a PhD from the University of Alberta. Her research focuses on managerial development and the important role emotional intelligence plays in leadership. Dr. Pagonis is excited to be the keynote speaker at this year’s Women in Safety Conference to discuss a topic that is near and dear to her heart; women in leadership.
