An experienced Technical Fiber, Fabric and Clothing Specialist, Carolyn has worked across multiple PPE platforms including protective clothing for worker exposure to bullet & ballistic fragments, chemicals & particulates and arc flash & Flash fire. While clothing of all descriptions is her core passion she has focused her career on educating workers and their employers about the proper selection, fit, care and maintenance of PPE.

 

ith 12 years working with DuPont Canada on her resume and about to begin her 7th year with Mount Vernon Mills, Carolyn is grateful to both companies for enabling her to focus on worker safety and personal protection. Mount Vernon Mills in particular is allowing her to dedicate a portion of her employment to the development and maintence of 3 worker protection-focused National Standards of Canada and one US worker safety standard. To that end, Carolyn is a Technical Committee member for CSA Z96 “High Visibility Safety Apparel” , CGSB 155.20 “Workwear for protection against hydrocarbon flash fire and optionally steam and hot fluids and NFPA 70E “Workplace Electrical Safety”.

 

Carolyn is presently the Chair for CSA Z462 “Workplace Electrical Safety” .
